Wes Pettinger and the Pettinger Foundation

The Pettinger Foundation, an organization that promotes math, science and technology, as established in 1998. Each year the foundation funds middle school robotic competitions and conducts elementary, middle and high school science classroom activities.  In addition to this, the Pettinger Foundation grants scholarships to deserving seniors who will be pursing college degrees in the fields of math, science and technology.  For the past nine years, the Pettinger Foundation has been the primary sponsor of the Austin Academy Robotics Team.

In his spare time, Wes is a Puppy Walker for the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind in Smithtown, New York.  Each year they take on the great responsibility of caring for a future guide dog.  Puppy Walkers take home a 7-week-old puppy and care for it until it is between 12 and 14 months old. They housebreak the puppy, socialize it in different environments, teach it good house manners, and provide it with the loving attention it needs. When the dog is about a year old, the family returns the dog to the Foundation so it can move ahead with its new career. He and his wife are currently raising their eighth future guide dog, a golden retriever named “LADY”.  For more information visit: www.guidedog.org

The Pettingers have recently developed a line of Vidalia onion salad dressings called “HiTech’s Originial” which are “tail wagging good”.  All the proceeds from the dressings go to the Guide Dog Foundation.
